My name is Danita and I'm the owner and operator of Weekends Away. 

My philosophy is simple... Offer great retreats at affordable prices!!

 

 

I have been organizing amazing weekend retreats since 1995 building my client base with referrals.  I believe in offering no less than what I would expect and selling only products I would use myself. 

 

I am a beader and scrapper myself, having made over 150 albums though my events welcome those who stamp, knit, paint or do any craft.  Ladies have even attended simply bringing a book to read so they could be with their friends and take advantage of all the great things and time away we offer.  

 

Because I don't believe you should pay for things you don't use or need...   We generally don't offer meals (because most of us snack all weekend from the treat and sweet table)

Because we do not charge extra for any lessons we may teach. 

Because we sell our unique products for "less than retail" (as we don't have all the the overhead and expenses of stores!!)

Because I believe a women's time away is necessary and essential to her sanity - I offer you time away with other fun and outgoing women that you already have something in common with - crafting.  Come to the events with friends for a girl's weekend or come alone for some quiet time or I can sit you with others that come unaccompanied. 

Because of my experience in teaching scrapbooking - I can help beginners who are overwhelmed with the thought of scrapbooking.  It's true, those magazines scare the daylights out of most people!!  Because my life is so busy, I specialize in fast, easy pages that look exciting and pleasing to the eye.  Don't get me wrong, some of my clients are content to spend 4 hours on a page that truly look like a work of art .  If this is what you choose to do - GREAT!!  We all love to oogle over your amazing masterpieces  So be prepared!  But for most of us busy moms, my techniques and tools for beautiful and speedy pages is a life saver!!

   This is also know as our Trash to Treasure area where we 

   exchange our "no longer used" products and supplies

Because the ladies love the organization of the weekend

Danita, We had an absolute BLAST this weekend!  This was my first scrap weekend and it definatley won't be my last!  It was so nice to re-connect with friends and get something accomplished as well!!  Julie Z

Danita, I just wanted to let you know the retreat was fabulous!  I had so much fun, everything was set up great, I loved being able to look at the products...  I can't say enough good things!!  Everyone participating was so friendly,  I love your idea of the Trash to Treasure Table.  I got rid of some things I knew I'd never use again and picked up some things I would use.  Diane N

I thought the weekend was a raging success!!  I enjoyed the people I sat with and had the privilege of sitting next to the appointed "Crop Queen" and really cannot say enough about how delightful and fun she was.  I can't wait for the next one!!  Wendy H
